Cardio Sculpt, TRX Bootcamp, or HIIT Circuit? A First-Timer’s Guide to Group Classes on 30A

Three classes, one time slot, no guesswork. Group classes at Grayton Beach Fitness run at 9am on weekdays — Cardio Sculpt on Monday and Wednesday, TRX Bootcamp on Tuesday and Thursday, HIIT Circuit on Friday — and they’re open to members and visitors alike. Class credits are $7 for a single class or $40 for a pack of 8, booked through the ClubReady app. Here’s what each class actually is, who it suits, what to bring, and how to pick your first one.

Cardio Sculpt (Mon & Wed)

High-energy, heart-pumping conditioning set to music — aerobic work and strength work in the same hour, building heart health and muscular endurance together. It’s the most beginner-friendly of the three and genuinely works for all fitness levels: you set your own pace, the instructor sets the energy.

Pick it if: you want a sweat and a full-body workout without heavy loading, or you’re new to group fitness.
Bring: water, a towel, sneakers with some cushion.
Intensity: 3 out of 5 — scalable up or down.

TRX Bootcamp (Tue & Thu)

TRX suspension straps use your own bodyweight to build strength, balance, agility, and flexibility, with your core doing the work on every rep. We layer bootcamp-style intervals on top of the straps to turn up the heat. Expect to move better and feel stronger — the TRX motto is “make your body your machine.” Modifications are always available, so nearly anyone can do this class.

Pick it if: you want strength and core work that translates to real life (and to the paddleboard).
Bring: water, a towel, flat-soled or cross-training shoes.
Intensity: 4 out of 5 — but every move has an easier angle.

HIIT Circuit (Fri)

High-intensity interval training in a circuit format: short, hard efforts at a series of stations with brief rest between. Efficient, sweaty, and done in an hour — the classic “end the week strong” workout.

Pick it if: you’re short on time and want the most conditioning per minute.
Bring: water, a towel, and something to eat afterward.
Intensity: 4–5 out of 5 — go at your own pace on your first visit.

How class credits and booking work

  • Who can come: members and guests. You don’t need a membership to take a class.
  • What it costs: $7 for a single class credit, or $40 for 8 credits ($5 a class).
  • How to book: the free ClubReady app — iOS / Android. Grab a credit, pick your class, show up a few minutes early.
  • First time? Tell the instructor. Every class has modifications, and nobody is keeping score.

Free beach bootcamp — Labor Day, Monday September 7, 8am

One-off, free, and open to members and guests: meet at the gym at 8am on Labor Day, jog to the beach, and work through beach-oriented exercises in the sand and surf. Wear clothes you’re happy to get wet in. It’s a good first taste of what our classes feel like — with a better view. More events are in the works; watch the classes page and our Google Business Profile for dates.

Prefer something more personal?

  • Free orientation: get to know the gym, the equipment, and get a mini movement assessment after filling out a short wellness questionnaire. Free for members and guests.
  • Consultation package: if you’ve ever wondered whether a trainer would help — a movement assessment, a SECA body-composition scan, and three 45-minute personal training sessions.
  • SECA body composition analysis: $45. A 17-second, non-invasive scan of fat mass, fat-free mass, total body water, and skeletal muscle mass, at about 97% accuracy — a real baseline instead of a bathroom scale.
  • Personal or small-group training and private event classes (bachelorette weekends, family reunions) on the beach, at your rental, or in the gym. See the personal training page or read how to choose a trainer on 30A.

Which class should you start with?

  • Brand new or coming back after a break: Cardio Sculpt.
  • Want strength and core without a barbell: TRX Bootcamp.
  • Short on time, want to leave wrecked (in a good way): HIIT Circuit.
  • Not sure: book the free orientation first, then pick.
