Short answer: Grayton Beach Fitness is about 20 to 25 minutes east of Miramar Beach and Sandestin by car (11 to 14 miles, outside peak season). It isn’t next door, and we won’t pretend it is. But if you want a full gym floor, a visitor pass with a published price, and a weekday class you can drop into, it’s an easy run down US 98 and County Road 283 to 55 Logan Lane in Grayton Beach. Here’s the route, what it costs, and how to make the trip worth it.
How far is Grayton Beach Fitness from Miramar Beach and Sandestin?
We checked the routes with a mapping engine rather than guessing. Door to door, without traffic:
| Starting from | Drive time | Distance |
|---|---|---|
| Grand Boulevard (Sandestin) | About 19 minutes | 11.3 miles |
| Sandestin | About 22 minutes | 12.4 miles |
| Miramar Beach (Scenic Gulf Drive) | About 25 minutes | 14.3 miles |
Those are off-season numbers. In summer, and on busy holiday weekends, traffic on 98 and 30A can easily double them. If you’re coming in July, go early. Our staffed hours start at 7am on weekdays, and the roads are quieter before the beach crowd is out.
The route
- Get on US Highway 98 (Emerald Coast Parkway) heading east.
- Turn right (south) onto County Road 283 toward Grayton Beach.
- Follow 283 south toward 30A. We’re in the shopping center just north of the Grayton Beach traffic light, in the stand-alone building behind Hurricane Oyster Bar. If you reach the light at 30A, you’ve gone just past us.
The address for your map app is 55 Logan Ln, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459.
Why make the drive?
Plenty of people staying out west are happy with whatever is closest. This is for the ones who want a real training session on vacation and don’t mind 20 minutes in the car to get it.
- A full gym floor. Treadmills, ellipticals, spin bikes and rowing machines on the cardio side; free weights up to 120 lbs and Cybex, Atlantis and Precision Series strength machines on the other.
- Visitor passes with the price posted. No “call for rates.” You can see exactly what you’ll pay before you leave the condo.
- Classes open to guests. You don’t need a membership to take a class, and a drop-in costs $7.
- A family-run gym. Paul and Debbie Hunter founded Grayton Beach Fitness in 2004 and still run it.
What a visitor pass costs
| Pass | Price | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| 1-day pass | $30 | One day, staffed hours |
| 3-day pass | $75 | 3 visits within one week of your first check-in |
| Week pass | $95 | 7 consecutive days from your first check-in |
Florida sales tax is added at checkout, so the totals come to $32.10, $80.25 and $101.65. Buy online on our guest passes page, then check in at the front desk. Passes work during staffed hours: Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm, Saturday and Sunday 8am to noon. The week pass has a 24/7 access add-on if you’d rather train outside those hours; ask the front desk. There’s a full breakdown in how much a gym day pass costs on 30A.
With 20 minutes or more in the car each way, two or three visits in a week is realistic for most trips. That’s what the 3-day pass is built for.
Plan the trip around a 9am class
Group classes run at 9am on weekdays, and they’re open to members and guests:
- Monday and Wednesday: Cardio Sculpt
- Tuesday and Thursday: TRX Bootcamp
- Friday: HIIT Circuit
Class credits are $7 for a single drop-in class or $40 for 8. Pass holders pay for classes separately, and classes need to be booked in advance in the ClubReady app. Times and formats can change with attendance and holidays, so check the classes page before you set out. Leave Sandestin by about 8:30 outside peak season and you’ll have a few minutes to spare. Stay after class for a lifting session and you’re done before most people have found a beach chair.
Want some coaching while you’re here?
Every visitor can book a free orientation: a tour, an introduction to the equipment and a mini movement assessment after a short wellness questionnaire. If you want more than that, our trainers offer individual sessions, partner or family sessions, and flexibility and foam-rolling work. A SECA body composition scan is $45 if you’d like a baseline to take home. See personal training for details.
Bringing a group to Sandestin for a bachelorette weekend or a family reunion? We run private event classes on the beach, at your rental or in the gym. Get in touch and ask for details.
Staying somewhere else on 30A?
If you’re closer to Seaside or WaterColor, we’re only a few minutes away. Read gyms near Seaside. Staying at the east end? See the gym near Rosemary Beach and Alys Beach.
