Gym Near Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach and Watersound: Where to Train on the East End of 30A

Short answer: if you’re staying in Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach or Watersound and want a full gym that sells visitor passes, Grayton Beach Fitness is about 20 minutes west by car outside peak season. Take 30A west to the Grayton Beach light for the scenic way (roughly 9 to 11 miles, about 25 to 30 minutes), or go up to US 98 for the usually quicker way (about 13 miles, about 20 minutes). Visitors are welcome on day, 3-day and week passes, and classes are open to guests. Here’s how to get there and what to expect.

How far is it from the east end of 30A?

We ran the routes through a mapping engine instead of guessing. Without traffic:

Starting from Via US 98 Via 30A
Watersound About 20 min, 12.9 mi About 24 min, 9.0 mi
Alys Beach About 20 min, 12.9 mi About 26 min, 10.0 mi
Rosemary Beach About 20 min, 13.1 mi About 29 min, 11.0 mi

30A is the shorter drive but the slower one, because it runs through Seagrove, Seaside and WaterColor at low speeds. In summer and on holiday weekends, traffic on 30A can double those times. If you’re here in peak season, go early or take 98.

Two ways to get here

Along 30A (the scenic way)

  1. Head west on Scenic Highway 30A through Seagrove, Seaside and WaterColor.
  2. At the Grayton Beach traffic light, turn right (north) onto County Road 283.
  3. We’re in the first shopping center on the left, in the stand-alone building behind Hurricane Oyster Bar.

Via US 98 (usually quicker)

  1. Head north to US Highway 98 and turn left (west).
  2. Turn left (south) onto County Road 283 toward Grayton Beach.
  3. We’re just north of the 30A light, behind Hurricane Oyster Bar. If you reach the light, you’ve gone just past us.

Either way, put 55 Logan Ln, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459 in your map app.
